Welcome to the Argos Club!

This 2024-2025 season marks an exciting milestone for Notre Dame as we introduce our first club team: a 17U female traveling volleyball club. For this year only, we are thrilled to open our doors to athletes from outside the Notre Dame campus. However, starting in September 2025, our volleyball club will exclusively feature athletes who have been specifically recruited to continue their high school volleyball careers with Notre Dame. This initiative has been developed under the guidance of our Volleyball Coordinator, Sierra Parris-Kruger, who was brought in to create a pathway for athletes who are deeply committed to excelling in this sport.

The mission of Notre Dame Volleyball is to enable athletes to maintain high academic standards while incorporating a comprehensive series of volleyball training sessions, on-court practice, and specialized volleyball classes into their regular school schedules, to prepare them for that collegiate level. We aim to equip our athletes with the tools they need for success in both post-secondary academics and athletics.

One common theme in sports is the importance of time. How many hours does it take to master a skill? Here at Notre Dame, you have the opportunity to reach that goal. As a student-athlete, you will have full access to the court and weight room, with training sessions integrated into your schedule just like any other class. Our dedicated personal trainers are available to assist you, and we offer mental training and counselling services, along with continuous access to your coaches seven days a week throughout the school year. Our goal is to make your transition from high school to university or college as seamless as possible. Let us help you achieve your dreams!

2024/2025 SEASON
This year, we are excited to announce our sole team: a female 17U club team. With fully accessible gym and weight room facilities as part of the school, our primary focus will be on rigorous training. Every athlete faces challenges that can hinder their performance, and our expertise lies in technical breakdowns to help them overcome these obstacles. We plan to train 4-5 days a week, maximizing our practice time, and will travel once or twice a month for competitions.

Currently, we are organizing four major tournaments in the United States (requiring flights) and 3-4 out-of-province tournaments in Canada (by driving). Our goal is to expose our athletes to diverse competition and break free from the typical Saskatchewan rotation of teams. This unique experience will allow them to compete against some of the top-performing athletes in the region and beyond. Our athletes will receive elite training from high-performing coaches who have successfully navigated the path they aspire to follow, providing invaluable insights along the way.

As mentioned earlier, this is the ONLY year we will accept athletes who are not fully boarding at Notre Dame. To facilitate participation, we are exploring shuttle options from Regina to Wilcox for weekday practices. We understand that driving conditions in Saskatchewan can be treacherous, especially in December, and will take care to avoid travel during those challenging months.

Our tentative schedule for the start of the club season is the following below…
November 23/24: Tryout/Evaluation weekend
November 26-29: Individual/Testing/Goal setting/Coach meet and greet (1 training session per athlete this week)
December 2-6: Individual/position specific training (2 training session this week)
December 7-January 4: Online meetings and workouts
January 5 - full 4-5 day a week practices start
